How do I replace receivers RAYEX S 50/110?

This article explains how to safely replace a receiver on a RAYEX® S 50 or RAYEX® S 110 measuring unit.

Important safety information

  • Receivers contain ESD-sensitive components, including highly sensitive CCS sensors.

  • Only qualified personnel may perform this procedure.
  • Always disconnect the system from power before starting.

Applicable systems

  • RAYEX® S 50

  • RAYEX® S 110

The replacement procedure is identical for both models.

Required tools & precautions

  • ESD protection (wrist strap recommended)

  • Appropriate screwdriver

  • Ensure a clean, dust-free environment

Step-by-step procedure

Step 1. Power down the system

Switch off the RAYEX® unit. Disconnect the unit from the power supply and unplug the power cord completely.

Step 2. Remove the protective cover

Carefully remove the protective cover on the product inlet side. Follow the maintenance instructions if required.

Step 3. Disconnect the receiver cables

Locate the receiver inside the unit and carefully disconnect the two cables connected to it.

Step 4. Remove the receiver

Loosen the two mounting screws securing the receiver and carefully remove the complete receiver from the unit.

Step 5. Verify the Axis Number

Check the Axis Number before installing the replacement receiver. The receiver mounted on the top side is Axis 1. The receiver mounted on the right side is Axis 2. Make sure the setting is correct.

Step 6. Reinstall the receiver

Place the receiver in the correct position, secure it with the two mounting screws, and reconnect the two cables.

Step 7. Reassemble the unit

Reinstall the protective cover and ensure all components are properly secured.

After replacement: mandatory calibration

After every receiver replacement, the following calibrations are required:

  • Gap calibration

  • Geometrical calibration

These procedures are described in the relevant chapters of the RAYEX S Web Server / Software Manual and must be completed before returning the system to operation.
